OK, Bag Monster is a moronic name, but Monster has become a catch-all phrase for "Hey, this will help you do something" This section will help you find the bags you're looking for (like you're really looking for them). Leaving everything blank will retrieve a list of all bags, however that may cause the page to load slowly.

Jackass (David Walker UK DVD release)

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Nathan Bell
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Unlike the other Jackass UK bag, this on is "Produced with pride by David Walker". Apparently, the DVD release of Jackass necessitated yet another sickbag. This one says, "You'll laugh. You'll hurl. You'll laugh again." Another winning bag.

Jackass (German release - Die Jackass Kotztüte)

Approximate Vintage: 2002
Received From: Oliver Hartmann
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
The German version of the celebrated stupid movie, Jackass. Can someone translate the ostensibly humorous content on the back of this bag? I hope it's worth the time to figure out what it says -- the pictographs are funny, maybe the copy is too.

As always, a generous air sickness bag afficionado comes along. Alex Kowatsch of Hamburg translates as follows:

Front: The Jackass Barf Bag

Back: What am I gonna do with a Jackass Barf Bag?

[First Picture] First, have a seat in your chair. Make sure your backrest is in an upright position, and that it's even there anymore. Then, shut up as the greatest movie of all times is about to begin. Silence anyone who is laughing already!

[Second Picture] Huh? You didn't imagine the movie to be this primitive, repulsive and disgusting? Maybe you thought this would be one of those trashy chick-flicks or a hardcore action movie for crazy gearheads? We're sorry that you feel sick now. But maybe it's the rotten popcorn or your neighbors bad breath.

[Third Picture] What a mess! (Literal translation would be 'There we have the salad!') Or did you eat anything else before this? Anyways, now you know why you had to take a Jackass Barf Bag with you to the movies. This movie just isn't for sensible people with weak stomachs. But hey, at least the bag can hold a lot of stuff.

Excellent bag that sports a skull and crossbones and was part of the movie's promo kit. The bag warns, "WARNING: The stunts in this movie were perfomred by professionals, so neither you nor your dumb buddies should attempt anything from this movie." Much different than the UK version of this bag.

Libido Airbag

Approximate Vintage: 1996
Received From: Scott Cunningham
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
This is a rare find I purchased on eBay. From the mid-90s, it's Grindcore Music (whatever that is). The bag is reasonably violent and pornographic. It says

Maniac

Approximate Vintage: 1980
Print or Image Color: Black, White
Background / Bag Color: White, Black
This bag was supposedly released by the studio to theatres as a promotional item. While I've been told this was for the 1980 film Maniac, the font looks newer than that. Perhaps some horror buff could elucidate. The person I obtained this from said, "I got these from the movie promoter/producers estate"

The bag says
Complimentary BARF BAG
CAUTION: Certain scenes in tonight's movie "MANIAC" may cuase acute stomach distress. Viewers are urged to keep this bag handy at all times. After use, please discard quickly in proper sanitary receptacle, as bag may evntually leak.
Enjoy the show!

Mark of The Devil

Approximate Vintage: 1971
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
I am so sick of these stupid things. They're everywhere in many different forms. This particular form doesn't urge you to "See it soon at a theatre near you" or anywhere for that matter. It's just plain. Bruce Kelly says he's almost up to 10 different varieties of this bag. In fact, he grabbed one I could have gotten when I didn't realize it was yet another variation and one that I didn't have.

Identical to other Mark of the Devil bag, except this one was manufactured by Kard-O-Pak.

I recently received a donation of 2 of these bags from shot glass collector David Woitasek. He says, "I found these 2 bags in a piano about 15 years ago". Wow, 15 years!!

Here's an odd version of the Mark of the Devil bag. This one is flimsy, tiny and black (contrary to stereotypes). Anyway, I don't know the history of this, but it seems anathema to the other red Mark of the Devil bags (whatever anathema means).

This is identical to the other 2012 bag except it's printed on a bag that has copy on the back and the bottom.

Mark Of The Devil

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Tom Snyders
Print or Image Color: Red, Black

Here's an odd version of the Mark of the Devil bag. This one was distributed at some kind of International Horror Film Festival in Vancouver BC called "Cinemuerte". It was held between June 30 - July 8, 2000.

The bag says ... at the Pacific Cinematheque, 1131 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC. Info: 873-6958

Mark of The Devil ABP

Approximate Vintage: 1971
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
This ABP bottomed bag was distributed at a movie by the same name. The bag claims that it is "Positively The Most HORRIFYING Film Ever Made!". The film is also "Rated V for Violence!!!". The bag looks remarkably similar to Cannibal Ferox. It is unknown if the two are related. A quick check of the Internet Movie Database reveals that a film of the same name is dated 1984. This is incorrect. Mark of the Devil is dated 1971. This explanation comes from Joseph Gleason.

a movie named "Mark of the Devil" was released in 1984, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE MOVIE AT WHICH THE BAGS WERE DISTRIBUTED. How do I know? Well, in 1971 when I was small lad of age nine living in Danvers, MA my good friends Ron and Ralph Luscinski of Peabody, MA and I piled into the Luscinski automobile and headed for the West Peabody Cinema to see THE "Mark of the Devil" which was indeed "Rated V for Violence" and where they indeed distributed vomit bags. ALL TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do I remember all this? Well, the movie was just WAY too violent for that nine year old little boy (in fact I remember going to that movie like it was yesterday) and I headed for the exit before the closing credits (LONG BEFORE THE CLOSING CREDITS). I remember standing by myself in the lobby and the usher asking me if I wanted to go outside for some fresh air. When I got outside I remember looking at the movie poster for the other movie playing at the cinema that weekend and it was none other than the James Bond thriller, "Diamonds are Forever" which was released in 1971!

...and that's the way it was all those years ago! Everything written here one hundred percent absolutely true and if you have any doubts I'll have Ron Luscinski e-mail you to verify same. In addition, Ron can tell you all about the movie 'cause unlike me he didn't woos-out! :o) Trust me on all this!

By the way (and on a very sad note) that West Peabody Cinema is now a SYMS Department Store! :o( )

Now according to anonymous kibbitzer gator722@mail.mem.bellsouth.net, it's a German movie called "Hexen bis aufs Blut gequält"

Mark of The Devil Crest Theatre

Approximate Vintage: 1971
Received From: Katherine Craigo

Will the variations of this bag never end? This one was specifically printed up for the Crest Theatre. I have no idea where that is, but the former owner of this bag lives in North Dakota.

Mark of The Devil REAL VERSION

Approximate Vintage: 1971
Received From: Kelly Collins
Print or Image Color: Red
Background / Bag Color: White
If you were to do a quick search of eBay auctions past and present, you'd find that there are hundreds of "Mark of The Devil" bags floating around out there. The movie simply wasn't that popular. There seems to be some unknown source of these bags. I personally think it's a Columbian Cartel, but I could be wrong.

Now what makes this particular bag authentic is the text that says "See it at the Showcase Cinema". All the fake bags (like the one above) say "See it Soon at a Theatre Near You". FWIW: I found this on eBay
