OK, Bag Monster is a moronic name, but Monster has become a catch-all phrase for "Hey, this will help you do something" This section will help you find the bags you're looking for (like you're really looking for them). Leaving everything blank will retrieve a list of all bags, however that may cause the page to load slowly.

L'Oréal

Approximate Vintage: 1988
Received From: Jim Thompson
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
There's nothing quite like protest barf bag. This bag was created in order to send a message of protest to cosmetics giant L'Oréal and get them to stop experimenting on animals. The bag requires a 25 cent stamp, so that means this bag was created some time between 1988 and 1991. The bag says:

L'Oréal tortures animals in its testing labs! Skin and hair-care products are smeared on the raw, shaved backs of rabbits and force-fed to rats. It's enough to make you sick.

What you can do

  1. Carefully remove this bag from the magazine.
  2. Put a 25¢ stamp in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Write a letter tof protest. Tell L'Oréal you won't buy thier products until they stop testing on animals.
  4. Insert the letter into the bag, tape the bag shut and send it in!

Costa Rican Airline. Cute cartoonish airplane logo. Has stars in the fold at the bottom of the bag.

Lacsa

Received From: Kim Decker
Print or Image Color: Blue, Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Back in the older days, once proud Lacsa proclaimed their airline name on the front and back of the bag. However in the 90s, they decided to relegate it to the bottom of the bag.

LACSA

Approximate Vintage: 1975
Received From: Andrew Angel
Print or Image Color: White
Background / Bag Color: Blue
Great old Costa Rican bag that has a flying sunflower logo that looks a bit like a Star Trek Federation logo. An American made bag ... so you know it's old.

Ladeco

Received From: Mike Roselle
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
I don't know what cuidadosamente means, but it seems like it should mean 'two city-ish'.

New flash! Language and barf expert Jordi Bofill has the answer. It means 'carefully'. Thanks Jordi!

Ladeco

Received From: Ken Costilow
Print or Image Color: Bold Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
I obtained this from Ken during the great Dallas Air Sickness Bag swap of 1999 at Momo's restaurant. Neither of us has been to Chile, however.

Lads Night Out, Crazy Coyote Games

Approximate Vintage: 2007
Received From: Sally Davis
Print or Image Color: Black
Background / Bag Color: White
This bag is part of a stag night kit called "Lad's Night Out", that comes with a fake beer can, dice, name tags, a coke mirror (yes really) and this sickbag. I like the cool cartoon coyote on it.

Laker Airways

Received From: Steven James
Print or Image Color: Red and Black
Background / Bag Color: White
Stewardess is capitalized, probably as a concession in labor talks. Features a picture of a paper airplane.

LAM

Approximate Vintage: 2000
Received From: Paul Mundy
Print or Image Color: Red and Blue

Very plain bag from Mozambique with a very plain logo. If you picked up the bag upside-down, you might incorrectly guess you were on W7 airlines.

LAM (Linhas Aéreas de Mozambique)

Identical to the 2014 bag except the lettering in the logo is now navy blue instead of all white. Why the made the change is anyone's guess. Cool abstract curves, 3 in red, 1 in blue grace this bag from Mozambique

LAM (Linhas Aéreas de Mozambique)

Approximate Vintage: 2004

Background / Bag Color: White Plastic
This bag from Mozambique has a logo comprised of pieces of some kind of racetrack along with some kind of raptor. If you picked up the bag upside-down, you might incorrectly guess you were on W7 airlines. Interestingly, this bag spells Mozambique with a c.

I really lke the bold stripes and star that make this bag a standout.

Lan Chile

Received From: Ken Costilow
Print or Image Color: Red

This is one of the only bags that says, 'After Use Fold Towards You' on ONLY ONE side of the bag, indicating that barf bags aren't bi-directional.

Lan Chile

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: Bruce Kelly

Has a cute gray star. No instructions. It just sits there in the seat back. What could it possibly be for?

Lan Peru

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: Dean Eckert

Although ostensibly an easy bag to get, this one has eluded me for lo, these past 5 years. But I did eventually score this one.

Lao Airlines

Nice bag featuring a flower and a leaf. Bonus points for the English bag text making sense (like this sentence doesn't).
