OK, Bag Monster is a moronic name, but Monster has become a catch-all phrase for "Hey, this will help you do something" This section will help you find the bags you're looking for (like you're really looking for them). Leaving everything blank will retrieve a list of all bags, however that may cause the page to load slowly.

China Railways

Received From: Wolfgang Lüthje
Print or Image Color: White, Black
Background / Bag Color: Blue
If you look closely at the QR codes, you can see they've embedded their logo within. Pretty clever.

China Railways simplifies its bag and puts the QR codes on the back.

If you look closely at the QR codes, you can see they've embedded their logo within. Pretty clever.

China Southern

Approximate Vintage: 2007
Received From: Marcus Johns
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: White, Navy
Same as the 2005 version except now they show the universal "guy throwing trash in a wastebasket" symbol for those that were previously baffled by the bag's purpose.

China Southern

Approximate Vintage: 2004
Received From: Marcus Johns
Print or Image Color: Navy
Background / Bag Color: Navy, White
Exactly the same as the other China Southern 2004 bag except there is no registration block on the back of the bag

China Southern

Print or Image Color: Purple
Background / Bag Color: White
I'm actually not even sure this is a China Southern bag as it could easily be a Chinese generic. However, the font is identical to a previous China Southern bag so I'm basing my classification on that. OK Air (also Chinese) has a similar font but a much different bag design

Background / Bag Color: White, Navy
This is a lot like all the other China Southern bags of the same era except if you look in the fold, you see that this one was manufactured by CZAIR, whatever that is

China Southern Airlines

21 vertical lines on the bag. Lotus flower logo.

Nausea stud, Y.L. Tan chimes in that the flower is not a lotus. It is a stylized kapok flower.

Much like the 21 vertical lines version except no printing on the back and they added a tab to seal the top.

China Southern Airlines

Print or Image Color: Blue

Most of the parallel lines make it to the top of the bag, but strangely, two don't. It must have been a pain to design this bag because they erased the lines where the text runs -- and it sure doesn't look like a computer did it.

This bag is almost, but not quite, identical to this one. The difference young bag hobbyist, is that this bag only has 6 Chines characters under the logo. The other bag has 8. I'm sure there's a reason for this discrepancy, but I have no idea what it is!

China Southern Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 1999
Received From: Tim Gibson
Print or Image Color: Blue and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
Very similar to other China Southern bags of the same era, but this one has instructions on the top. Usually, the instructions are only in English, but China Southern also uses Chinese as if to say, "We're morons too!". The reverse side still has the enigmatic '99 3 18265.8', but the folding instructions are gone!

China Southern Airlines

I don't know Chinese, but the 4th Chinese character (reading left to right) in the airline's name kind of looks like a guy running to throw up somewhere.

Luckily, it's resident Chinese bag expert YL Tan to the rescue. YL claims that the character in question is called a 'fang' and it means 'direction'.

Although this looks like the 2000 version, the vitally important information '99 3 18265.8' was added to the bag's back.

China Southern Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2003
Received From: Julia Phillips-Horsley
Print or Image Color: Blue and Red
Background / Bag Color: White
They added the all important word "Airlines" to this bag.

China Southern Airlines

China Southern totally redesigns their bag, eschewing their own name (at least in English). Bag is Water-Proofed instead of waterproof.

China Southern Airlines

Approximate Vintage: 2005

Identical to the 2004 version, except there is no phone number on the back and a wire closing mechanism has been added.

China Southern Airlines Group

Received From: Mari van Rijbroek
Print or Image Color: Blue and Orange
Background / Bag Color: White
I guess they needed something to differentiate themselves form China Southern Airlines.

China Southwest

Approximate Vintage: 1997
Received From: Michael Hall
Print or Image Color: Blue
Background / Bag Color: White
One of the things I like best about this bag is what it says on the back: WELCOME TO FLY CHINA SOUTHWEST AIRLINES

The design makes the barfer believe that they're in an old movie theatre watch the stage production of "China Southwest Airlines Air Sickness Bag".
